Responsibilities of Board Members

One of our main responsibilities as board members is to maintain financial accountability of the Windward Key Corporation. As board members we are trustees of the organization’s assets and must exercise due diligence to oversee that the organization is well-managed and that its financial situation remains sound.

 

Each of us must stay objective, unselfish, responsible, honest, trustworthy, and efficient. As stewards of the Owners trust we must always act for the good of the Corporation, rather than for the benefit of ourselves. We must exercise reasonable care in all our decisions, without placing the organization under unnecessary risk.

 

To effectively manage the Corporation, it is important that we work as team by sharing information, be an active listener, consider the needs of other Board Members, attend meetings, and stay in touch with the needs of the community.
